LPA Interdisciplinary Diversity Scholarship
LPA will be accepting applications starting October 2023 for its Interdisciplinary Diversity Scholarship Program, which awards five high school seniors in California and Texas with $5,000 renewable scholarships each year. The program is open to high school seniors in historically underrepresented demographics pursuing careers related to architecture, engineering and design.
In addition to financial aid, students will be matched with LPA mentors in their respective disciplines and have the opportunity for paid summer internships at LPA. Developed through the LPA Foundation with Scholarship America, the program is part of LPA’s commitment to advancing the diversity of the architecture and engineering disciplines.
Qualifications
Applicants must be high school seniors in California or Texas who have been accepted in a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited NAAB, LAAB, ABET, CIDA or NASAD four or five-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. Recipients must be pursuing a degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Architecture/Design, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree and be legally authorized to work in the United States.Financial need will be considered, and assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to historically underrepresented students in the eligible fields. Awards are renewable for up to four years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, as long as the recipient meets renewal criteria.
